Message to the Community

These are truly exciting times for The City and the New Britain Police Department.  The department is now hiring to fill numerous vacancies to better serve you, the citizens of New Britain.  The department will also be leaving its old headquarters on Columbus Boulevard for our new location in the heart of downtown on the corner of Chestnut Street and Main Street. This building is built with the needs of the officers and the community in mind to bring us together into the era of policing in New Britain.

I have been selected to serve in the role of Interim Chief of Police until a permanent selection of a new Chief can be made.  I am deeply honored and proud to lead this department through this time of regrowth and change.  This is a great city which is served by the finest men and women in blue in the entire state.   

The New Britain Police Department remains committed to partnering with the community to address the concerns of the city.  An effective Community Policing philosophy enables such strong relationships with the neighborhoods to quickly address the needs that arise.  The goal of the New Britain Police Department for the community is to protect and serve in the most professional and compassionate manner possible. We want to bring good things to our great city.  We want to continue to work together to make our city what was always meant to be  - a great place to work, to live, and to raise our families.
