The Training Bureau is the unit within the department responsible for the upkeep of our officers'
training and certifications with the State of Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC). It plans and coordinates the quarterly training all New Britain officers must attend as well as the
distribution of exterior schooling for officers and maintains all officers' training records as well. It is currently
manned by an Officer and a Sergeant with many of our officers in other assignments acting as adjunct instructors. This
bureau is also responsible for administering the New Britain Police Academy, with assistance from in-house instructors and
