The Narcotic Enforcement Bureau is the investigative component of the Department charged with detection, investigation
and suppression of illegal "Vice" activity involving narcotics, gambling, prostitution, obscenity, and liquor violations.
Major tasks and duties include:
* Extensive vice complaint and follow-up case investigations.
* The planning and
execution of specialized covert surveillance and drug raid operations.
* The processing of drug/vice-related arrests.
*
The preparation and presentation of court cases.
* The gathering and analysis of drug and vice-related "Intelligence"
information.
* Coordination and participation in multi-jurisdictional Narcotics Task Force operations.
The Bureau has a drug hotline where citizens can report any of the above activities. Voice-mail picks up
on the line 24 hours a day and callers should try to be as descriptive as possible in describing illicit activity. Callers
